To all

Does anyone know if there are similar formula to Roark's formula for rectangular plate with uniform pressure but for tapered plates? Have done some web search and so far have found nothing relevant

Thanks

I think you mean trapezoidal plate ? I'd use a rectangular panel with average sides, yes? Or FE

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

I would use FE analysis. Just be careful how you define the boundary conditions. You will have to use local coordinate systems along the tapered sides.

indeed I meant "trapezoidal" and not tapered. My apologies. Already used an average 'b' dimension to bound the problem. I have no interest in doing FE on such simple problem unless I decide to develop my own beta factors. There must be something on this somewhere.

If you could find a way to manufacture plate tapered in thickness, economically, there might be a market....
