Hello I have a question regarding strip foundations
according to the NHBC a strip foundation minimum thickness should be equal to the projection 150mm and the depth of the foundation should be equal to the projection. This is to allow for the stress that works at 45 degree angles, but I have noticed on a lot of strip foundation designs that people are using for example 600 x 225 or 750 x 325mm strip, this depth does not follow the rule. What safety factor are they Appling for the depth of the foundation ?
