What is the latest industry solution for stripped holes that once held wood type screws securely. Please don't suggest a larger screw.
Thanks,
Raul

I have always glued (use wood glue) in toothpicks or matchsticks (head removed) to fill the hole. Then you can drill a pilot hole (or not) and drive the screw. Has always worked for me.

Hope this helps.

"Rock Hard Water Putty" - I forget the manufacturer. It comes in a powder form. Mix it with water. Apply it and a day later it's hard as a rock; drillable, nailable, etc. Works for me. I don't know if it's an industry standard, though. Depends what you want to do. If it's fixing a structural connection, you may need to do a bit more. I don't have any data on bearing properties of the wood putty, but now that I've suggested it, I will investigate it myself!

Whats worked for me is similar to the glued toothpicks and matchsticks and that is wood dowels. They come in all sizes and can be glued in, cut off, and sanded down. Once you've made a cut on the dowel stick you've plenty left over for more problems that arise later (as they seem to do with me).
