I am considering the use of a caustic bath to strip IVD aluminum from a high strength steel substrate and was wondering about hydrogen embrittlement. I know caustics generally will not cause a problem with high stength steel, but was thinking that with the evolved hydrogen from the aluminum there might be an issue.
