I need to make a larger shipping box, smaller. My plan is to cut the larger box made of corrugated fiberboard (aka corrugated cardboard) and stick it back together, but what's the best adhesive to do that? The bond must be durable enough to withstand the journey of international parcel delivery. Ideally the adhesive bond would be as strong as the original adhesive used to construct the box, but I've read it's a "starch-based" adhesive; can I purchase a similar product at a store?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Almost any glue will work for this. I suggest white wood glue (Elmer's type).
