So today I had to reference my structural analysis book from college. I noticed an asterisk next to some of the homework problems. I was not able to find the meaning of these. Do any of you know why those asterisks are there?

Thanks

I looked at mine and noticed that those problems are not included in the solutions in the back of the book.

I believe it has to do with which problems are worked out in the solutions, as andriver mentioned.

Yeah, I believe it's problems that are worked out in the instructor's manual. Typically those were assigned as homework back in college for me.
