thread507-434843

I am a structural engineer currently registered in New York. There is a pretty good chance that I will be moving to Paris, France to be with my soon-to-be wife. Unfortunately, my current level of French comprehension is quite low. I’m hoping to find an English-speaking structural engineering position while I develop my French.
I came across the referenced thread when looking for structural engineering jobs for English speakers in Paris, France. Might be a long shot, but I’m hoping the original poster of the referenced thread will see this and indicate if they were successful in finding an English-speaking structural engineering job in Paris, and, if so, how they accomplished. That said, if anyone else has input regarding this, I’m eager to hear it!
Thanks in advance!

Are you aware that the stereotype of the french-person not understanding English (even, particularly?, feigning ignorance) is well grounded in fact ?

rb... I've even experienced that in Montreal... which is a little closer to home. [pipe]
