Dear Engineers,

What are some popular structural engineering software programs widely used in Canada? Besides ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE.

THANKS.

STAAD has Canadian code checking capabilities as well. What type of work are you doing?

Thanks TLHS. From Bentley, Staad has Canadian codes, but so to does RAM Structural System and Ram Connection.

Ok, thanks all.
I shall check out RAM STRUCTURAL SYSTEM, and SAFI.
I feel like STAAD.PRO becoming obsolete nowadays, not sure though.

- Canada seems to skew very heavily in favor of the CSI products in building design. Much more so than the US in my experience.

- RISA is used in Canada, supports Canadian codes, and is excellent for some types of work.

- In my experience, RAMConcePT is popular for slab design with Canadian firms that do a lot of that kind of work.

- RFEM Dublal supports Canadian codes and seems to be gaining some traction, especially with the timber and glass crowds.

In answering your question, it would be very helpful for us to know what type of projects dominate your work? The best answer will likely depend on whether you do industrial, concrete towers, timber, etc...
