Following up on this RJ45 receptacle issue.
We knew that style with snap in pins cannot be used because they are incompatible with pick-&-place, so it had to be pure SMT.
Not too thrilled with our final choice so as we are now going to full production I will be closely watching for RMAs should they appear. We used pads as large as we could with vias to stabilize them and resist delamination. All pretty classical approaches. Using housing to constrain the connector body is not always & in our case, not an option due mostly to the housing cover being plastic and that it will deflect or shift before it will constrain the connector body!
