Dear friends
I want to know about some important things that I am thinking about for long times.
This is about the output in ANSYS software.
When I model a tank with its liquid and do some time history analysis. I got some responses such as :
S1
X,Y,Z component of force

I was wondering if someone could let me know what are these structural responses mean? for example the force is shear force?
also the S1 is principal stress or tensile stress

Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear. You managed to do a time history analysis of a tank with fluid and you'd like to know what force and stress is?

Thank you for your reply.
Yes I did it several times.
The thing that I have problem with is about the results. I know what the stress and force mean.
I do not know what type of stress and force they are
For example the x- component of force is shear force?
also the S1 is principal stress or tensile stress?
If I want to get tensile stress what result I should find in ANSYS.?

Maybe you could post some pictures of the results. S1 is the maximum principal stress, it can be either tensile or compressive.
