I have a steel wide-flange shape in a building built in 1985. It's dimensions (12-1/4" deep, 4" wide by 7/8" thick flange, 1/2" thick web) do not match any in the current steel manual. It is almost a W12x22 but this shape has thinner flanges and web. Does anyone know if this matches a discontinued shape from an old manual or what this shape is?

It looks like you have a typo for the flange and web thickness. If it really has a 1/4" web and 7/16" flange then it looks like you would have the W12x22. I don't know what you used but I would recommend you use calipers for the measurements where possible.
