Does anyone utilize publications to aid in their system selection for mid to high rise buildings? Be it reinforced concrete, composite steel, etc.

It seems like a lot of people just go with what they've done in the past instead of trying to determine the best system.

Please define how many floors you mean by mid to high rise.

Some of it has to do with floor to floor height, layout of the structure, weather, schedule, contractor availability, etc.

That's what I have noticed too, and a lot of the time the architects/owner have decided what the building will be composed and not even ask us.

Sorry I am not sure about high-rise, low to mid rise it seems to be often determined before it gets to me.
