We recently carried out geotechnical investigation on a hill and we seem to have struck a geothermal zone. We drilled a borehole up to 10 m and we encountered steam. The steam has not stopped even after two weeks. The logs are all rocky highly weathered. Our client wants to construct a high level water tank in the area. Any idea how we should go about it in designing the foundations. Any literature in designing structures in such terrain will help

That is an interesting site. I do not have experience with steam conditions but I guess you will need to calculate the steam pressures somehow to check uplift of the foundation especially when the tank is empty.
