Stud spacing and roof trusses

I have an condo project to design with a roof snow load of 42psf.
Owner wants to frame the 30ft. roof trusses at 24"oc, floor framing and wall studs (2x6)
at 16"oc. By the "numbers" I can get a triple top plate to carry the truss located
between the studs. On single family residential construction I often see trusses at 24"oc and studs @ 16,
and double top plates, apparently without issues. I think the plywood itself
assists in carrying the roof trusses between the studs. Owner doesn't want to use an extra plate
as he has built a lot of houses with just double plates and hasn't had any problems.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated

I got into a discussion with my 'timber expert' a few months ago and he noted that there is no reason for not using 24" centres and the thermal losses are slightly diminished.
