Hello,

I am new to this software, I just did something quite simple, but not sure if anything was done in a wrong way. Because as I attempted to check data/submit the job, it says "students edition restricts to 1000 nodes". I think what I tried to create should not be that crazy, so is there anybody can take a look what I have done? I attached the file here~

Basically, I want to simulate a solid sphere with viscosity (still have not assign viscosity value yet) striking a aluminum plane, and bounce away after contacting, both the plane and the sphere are deformable.

Thanks a lot in advance!

This version of Abaqus can’t solve models with more than 1000 nodes. If your mesh is denser than that then you have to increase the element size/decrease the number of elements. Query tools will let you check the number of nodes in current mesh.

Ok, thanks! So nodes actually means the density of all of my mesh? I will try that later~

Mesh is denser when it has more elements on the same area. But more elements also means more nodes. If you increase the approximate element size, Abaqus will fit less elements and resulting mesh will be coarser.
