When light gage structural steel studs come up to the underside of a steel beam with a slip track (allowance for beam deflection), if the beam requires spray on fireproofing, how is this normally accomplished? Is the light gage track sprayed with fireproofing? Does the deflection track need to be held down below the beam with some sort of standoff clip to allow the beam to be sprayed to the required depth? Does the fireproofing inside the track affect whether the deflection slip track will work properly? How does the light gage track affect the UL rating of the steel beam?
