Sub assemblies in BOM

How are subassemblies in BOM being handled by others.

We don't handle them the way Catia handles them. I understand the problems that Catia has subassemblies (Either explodes the bill or does not number them), but has anyone found a way to list the subassemblies in the BOM without having to manuelly renumber the BOM?

We generally have the Subassemblies listed first in the BOM. If we leave them first in the BOM, then we must manuelly overwrite all the numbers in the bill. Then we loose all the associativity between the balloons and the Bill.

Any help would be appreciated.

I noticed this problem in R8 or something and told Dassault about it. The anwser was something like "the big companies don't create drawings on assemblies..."

I haven't check in later releases if they have come up with any solution...
