sub-assembly from parts 1

I did a quick search and found nothing.
I want to create a sub-assembly by selecting several parts in the browswer window. I thought it would be as easy as selecting the parts and "make new assembly from parts", but no luck so far. thanks.

Ctrl select the desired components and right mouse button select Component>Demote. Follow the dialogs to create your sub-assembly.
