We would be installing submarine pipelines at the water depths from 1400M to 2700M. Being deep waters, there would not be any concrete coating. I would like to know how to protect the anodes during laying of the pipeline as these anodes would be protruding outward and may damage during passing through tensioners or on rollers.

Regards,

Anil

Is it an option to install the anodes aft of the tensioner.

Do the anodes consist of 2 half shells. We installed some bracelet type anodes to 3LPP coated pipe by clamping the 2 half shells together as hard as possible using a come-along around the pipe and then welding together. The anode itself was not welded to the pipeline at all except for 'tails' cad welded to the pipe surface. About 99% survived through the stinger. Some didn't make it.

Coating with NiTi could offer an effective option to resolve your concern. We would be happy to response to your RFQ.
