I know the well head control panel is connected with sub sea safety Valve and some thing called USV

1) What is is a USV
2) How does a USV look and where can i find the constructional features (Googles Images did not help)
3) How does a SSV look like and where can i find the constructional features for SSV
4) What is the design Code/Standard for testing and manufacturing (Equivalent to ANSI B16.34/API 600/API 598/API 6D/API 6A) for a Sub Sea Safety valve?

5) Why is a wire (rope control) requested for some wells?

bmoorthy,

I cannot answer all your questions, but here's something to start you off with:
(3) See the following links and download the catalogues- will give you schematics, but you may need to register on line if you want more details, e.g. dimensions, etc
and
(4) API 6A (Specification for Wellhead and Christmas Tree Equipment) AND
API 14A (Specification for Subsurface Safety Valve Equipment) are the Codes.

Can you tell me what USV stand for? (I am guessing Under Sea Valve) and what do you mean by wire rope? Or is it a control line that you are talking about.

Regards
