In underground power house submersible pumps are being used for drainage & dewatering application which are kept on lowest sump of power house. Due to design requirement local control panel (LCP) of these pumps are kept on highe floor such as machine hall floor & their power & control cables are connected with LCP. Now due to voltage drop limitation somnetime size of these cables becomes big based on power requirement (motor KW) of these pumps. Directly connecting these cables from pump to LCP become very big length & very costly, sometime it becomes difficult to handle such big size cable at manufcaturer shop & also at site. Hence I was checking for possibility of two options:
(1) introducing an intermediate junction box of IP class protection on lower floor to limit submersible cable upto this junction box & further cable upto LCP with separate normal cable, to reduce cable & tranportation cost.
(2) Submersible cable in two length & then further joining of these cable at site by joining kit which will reduce the transportation cost for the same.

Plaese suggest your views/comments on the same to optimise cost of submersible cable by option 1 or cost of transporation by option 2 above.
