How do your offices typically aproach the revision of submittals for structural steel?

Is there am efficient way to make sure fabricator matches design intent?
(anything that would be faster than checking each drawings, element by element, to see if information in both match)

Thanks!

When I check the steel shops against my design model, I only check the layout plans and details. I do not check each individual member ticket. With all of the steel programs I am familiar with, the shop tickets are produced directly from the layout plans so it the callouts on the layout is the correct size, the shop ticket will be also.
Most of my work is on the other side of this question. My specialty is prestressed/precast concrete design and detailing. I do not even submit my shop tickets to the eor for review. I submit erection drawings with plan, elevation and details. Once those are approved, I produce the shop tickets from the approved model.
