Subsea power cable

Hi,

Could anyone tell me where I can look up standards for subsea cables regarding whether a ground wire is required? If so, can we rid of the ground wire by conduiting the cable?

Is this for AC or DC application?. What type of insulation and voltage level is used?, How long is the submarine cable interconnection?.

Sorry about that...This is for 8kV AC with EPDM rubber insulation, PVC jacket, and steel armor. We're looking at 10,000 ft and 26,000 ft lengths.

The concern is if we need a ground wire for safety on the platform or can we use a conduit for protection and rid of the ground wire.

I would think the requirement for a separate grounding conductor will be determined primarily by the available fault current and the ability of the insulation shield to withstand fault current until overcurrent protection operates.

I'm not familiar with undersea conduit.
