They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, I think a video is worth two thousand words. lol

I'm looking for some sort of video tutorial/course showing different 'workings' in a substation. From relay protection and operation, to transformer paralleling, to ANYTHING... animated or other.

Anybody?

thanks

Here is a page that has some interesting pictures and videos. Although they are not really educational as you request, they are entertaining. High voltage arcs, sparks, including a substation fuse failure, substation transformer exploding, arc flash demo.

thanks for the site dinkelja, very interesting.

i haven't been able to find any videos, though. i asked the administrators at our training department if i could borrow the training videos used for classes, but they said the videos are just that... for the classes. :-(

they were very informative. a good amount of the examples were animated, which i like. for example, one video clip shown was of a fault on a double ring bus. the animation showed how the c.t.'s operated the relays to isolated the fault. if i could find something similar, that would be great.

I don't understand why you don't get the names and information off your training department tapes and buy your own copies?!?! They sound like just what you want.
