Im working on job now thats all sugar sand. Trying to move dump trucks and 6x6 trucks on it. Ive worked with sugar sand before but never had to use it as a temp. road way. Any ideas on how to compact it? Rolling it dosent do much good either. Ive got no other dirt on site or close by to use such as rock or clay to mix with it. Thaks for any help.

Depending on the amount of grading, size of the project, and economic factors, etc., you could look at treating with cement, or asphaltic product.

Richard hit on the other main item in that you need something to confine it. A geoweb type oroduct should work well for that. Layer of fabric may work as well.

Either way, it may not be economically feasible for your project. But you should be able to calc that out.
