Suitable arrangement for valve operation 1

Dear Experts,

I am looking forward to getting suitable stem/steering wheel arrangement which can be operated from above the tank as shown in below.

Really appreciate if anyone can advise on the following:

-Suitable valve for this kind of arrangement
-Suitable stem/steering
-Suitable position indicators (to know open/close

The key here is to find a valve that is externally corrosion resistant. I'm sure API has an applicable standard but in marine industry we typically don't want to pay for the cost of an API valve. Scour the BOM, down to the nuts and bolts, and find a valve that uses only corrosion resistant parts.

In the above case, the handwheel is not acceptable but that is being removed.

There is some steel hardware mixed in there. This would have to be replaced prior to installation of the valve.

Gate valves are pretty good as are ball valves.

You need an extended stem which is s mixture of shaft and bigger tube to support it and act as a torque tube. A simple small tube like you show won't work.

It's quite a long extended stem but not crazy so just enquire of a few vendors.

I have several times specified solutions for this type of problem. The direct solution depends (as always) on the operatonal requirements. (Stem length 4,8 + 0,6 m correctly interpreted ?)

Valve: stainless steel material or other compatible to water chemical composition, BV, gate or double or triplet offset BF.

Gearcase: enclosed at valve or topside. Possible (but not necessarily) for gate valve. special threaded stem for extra gearing.

Operation time specification. Manual or electrical operation by net or possibly battery, or air by local system. Manual default.

Both standard factory (where are you located?) or special made stem extensions and consols available.

Stem extension with several wall supports and linked not to transfer forces other than operating torque to valve stem.

Recommended if possible: electrical actuator with external gear (topside), last generation operational control with limit and torque switches, position indicators plus more.

Perhaps Sarangan KV or AVK could offer suitable valves and extension and/with Auma Middle EAst FZE electric actuators. Competitors for all available.

Just ask any of the vendors you buy valves from. They should all have extended stem options for gate valves for water usage.
