I have read that super duplex bolting are generally recommended for duplex piping. Why wont duplex bolting be adequate for duplex piping?

Other than the fact that galvanic corrosion may set in if coating fails on carbon steel bolts used in stainless steel 316L piping and duplex piping, are there any other concerns which discourage the use of carbons steel bolts in CRA piping?

Thanks.

If the corrosion environment is external, it is common to use bolts that are more corrosion resistant then the piping. The bolts are under tension and have a lot of crevices so they need more corrosion protection.

If there are no external corrosion issues (inside a nice clean dry building) then use whatever.

Corrosion, every where, all the time.
