I have recently been advised that an interpass temperature for welding super duplex stainless steel should be limited to 100C. All the texts I have read advise 150C. Apparerntly better weld control is achievable.

stanier;
The current information I have from various superduplex stainless steel suppliers still recommend a maximum of 150 deg C. Someone may have decided to impose a more conservative interpass temperature requirement to assure remaining below 150 deg C. If anything, I would use 120 deg C maximum interpass temperature to assure remaining below 150 deg C.

If you look at curves that show time/temp for secondary phase formation you will understand why some people push to keep the temp as low as possible.
120C is a reasonable limit.
