Hi all,
I'm looking for work examples for superelevation especially on reverse & compound curves for both circular & spiral curves. The curves i'm dealing are pretty 'tight'; the straight section between two curves is very short or non-existing. The radius are ranging from 200 to 600 feet.

Thanx in advance

Hi, longisland:

You might find examples of these curves on Mannering's book:
Principles of Highway Engineering and Traffic Analysis.

Also, you need a certain distance between curves in order to perform the change of superelevation in the curve to the tangent. The maximum percent inside of change inside the curve I would think of is 50. I would try to reduce the radius of the curves.

Hope this helps,
Roberttx.

If longisland is on Long Island, NY, right-of-way costs are probably astronomical. Solutions short of realignment would be much preferred.
