We had two of the Supfina machines that we used for finishing different shafts. They did and excellent job though it is my understanding it was a chore to setup and operate.
The only thing I remember was that there were just a few in the machine shop that could operate the machines and probably only one enjoyed working with them. We had a representative from Elliot that came in to set up the original one. The second one just showed up with no paper work.

Here is the American Rep for the Machines. They should be able to provide you with the operating instructions. The 100 series machines look the same as the ones we have. We have a single and a double head machine.

A very good company. I visited them several years ago and looked at their superfinish machines. Unfortunately, they were only available as thru-feeds and I was looking for a plunge type.
I was so impressed with their products that I bought one of their tape heads (made to be mounted on a lathe) and had it put on a vertical lapping machine. The head has been so reliable that we now build all new lapping machines with the.

Thanks unclesyd & Steveh

The one I am talking about is an old one Model: SM 813-W1
We are trying to contact Supfina as well but they dont seem to have alot of information on this because it was hardly used in united states.

Unclesyd do you have any contct of the people who knew how run it (an email or anything)

What we are trying to see is how to control the depth of cut.

Thanks once again for replying
