I'm in the process of designing & constructing a low-profile deck. The dimensions of the deck and local codes will require that I use 2-2x8 pressure-treated lumber for the beams which need to be connected directly to the concrete footings. I also need to provide 1" standoff from the footings. Does anyone know of a fastener for this type of arrangement and a supplier?

Simpson don't make anything of the correct dimensions, their post anchors only work for 4x4 (3 1/2" actual) lumber or larger, I need 3" actual.

TIA

Consider using a post anchor with a spacer. The spacer can be plastic or wood. If you are using the new PT products, use hot dipped or gav. faterners and connectors.

Cheers

use the simpson post base w/ a spacers as boo1 mentioned. the alternative is to have a custom made base from either Simpson or a local fabricator and have it galvanized.
