Hi Folks,
I am looking for advice on how to check the impact of sewer crossing under an existing watermain. Because one of the sewers doesn’t meet minimum separation from the existing concrete watermain the plan reviewer is concerned about support for the main above the sewers. Would shear failure be the concern in this case? Any ideas would be appreciated. Sketch attached.
Note that low strength concrete fill is used to support the watermain.
