Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has modeled surface based cohesive behavior in 2D in Abaqus/Standard using *Dynamic, Implicit? I have modeled a thin film which is in contact with a discrete rigid surface using cohesive surface interaction. Another rigid surface impacts the film at a velocity. I am getting the same delamination area for the sheet if I keep the cohesive material properties constant except for the Gc. As per my understanding, increase in Gc should have an effect on the delamination. But I get the same delamination behavior no matter how much I increase Gc which doesn't make sense to me. I can't seem to get my head around the physical meaning behind that or if it is a numerical error. I would really like to know the thoughts of people who have encountered such an issue. Your help is really appreciated!
Thank you!
