Hello,

I have a question regarding surface coating inspection. I have implemented controls in my process for wet film inspection, DFT inspection, surface adherence inspection using SSPC standards.

But there is one argument which is embossed painting, as shown in the photo. How can one create an inspection method to check the level of embossing? Is there any standard and instrument for that?

Same as what you have already implemented except as below:

1. Make the surface preparation a little coarse.

2. Do the visual inspection of the primer (specially) and the subsequent coats using a magnifying glass.

In my opinion embossed painting is related with the surface condition after sandblasting, specified in Swedish Standards,
if surface condition is not correct there is a great possibility of have excess of embossing painting.
