Hello,

I am currently researching various ways to design a unique surface geometry that will cover a hemisphere. So far, I have designed a cube-like structure to serve as the basic element, which I vertically patterned along a curve to get a curved column, and then radially patterned around a distant point in order to get a hollow hemisphere.

Is there a better way to accomplish this? Could there be a better design process to get the same result? Thanks.

Chris

If you used something like Instance Geometry, then yes, that's about as good as it gets. Note that the next version of NX will have a major enhancement in the area of 'patterning' objects which might provide some additional tools to accomplish something like this, but the final result would be virtually the same.
