I have an application where I'll be bonding a magnet to a piece of tin/lead coated steel, using a cyanoacrylate.

During prototyping we used a 10/90 tin/lead coating because our plater had that available.
The final assembly will use a 95/5 tin/lead coating.

The bonding strength on the prototypes was marginal. I was hoping the switch to the 95/5 tin/lead would produce stronger bonds.

Does anyone know the difference in surface energy between the two tin/lead alloys? I thought that might provide clues to how the adhesive strength will be affected.
