I find the attached note on a drawing. I assume this means 250 micro-inches? But is that little cross a typical way to denote that? Trying to google that, all I come up with is the little check-mark-looking symbol, and never the italic cross.

In addition to in or metric, Probably needs a an RMS, Ra, etc.

10 µin RMS is pretty highly finished, like a hard working journal bearing might require.
 
Spell checkers in cad programs can do strange things. I guess no worse than some of the strange questions we used to get that turned out to be from cigarette burns in the blueprints. I understand that is why they changed the field weld symbol from a dot.
