Hi,

I need to import a surface from SolidWorks into Patran. The problem is, that the mesher doesn't create conformal nodes on the edges. For some reason Patran creates 5 surfaces, not one.

I tried importing as:
1. Parasolid
2. STEP
3. IGES

I tried to switch the import options:
- Sew sheet body
- B-rep Solid/Parametrized Solid
- Simply/General trimmed

“Edge match” and “Associate” don’t work either.
I uploaded the input files as a .zip archive.

Thanks.

I've tried to import your Iges file, and seems that everything is correct. Patran import 5 surfaces because there are 5 surface in the file. It is a box without a face.
I've also meshed, and everything was correct, then I make an equivalence on grid points and the mesh was perfect.
I never associate edges, if two edge are coincident, as they are, just mesh with same element dimension and then equivalence. Find the correct equivalence tolerance (1/20 of element dimension could be a good starting point).
You can also make a seed from an existing mesh, to make coincident grid point, in case you work with more complicate surfaces.
Cheers
