surfacing

Hello all,
i'm trying to get my head around surfacing, but to be honest it has me totally confused.
Does anyone know of a few starter tutorials i could work thru to help me get going with this.

I don't know of any tutorials, but you might want to try modelling some of the items in the SWX model library using surfaces, or pick an object with lots of smooth intersecting surfaces like a mouse or a camera. Consumer goods like this are good examples when trying to learn surfacing.

I havn't been able to find any surfacing tutorials for solidworks either. If you can get your head around Pro-engineer terminology the theory is the same.

you may need to follow some links from the design engine site - pro/e tutorials

tip (for Solidworks)- to make a solid from a surface can be done in two ways - thicken option (to give an offsetted thickness from a selected surface) - a solid from a knitted surface (must be completely enclosed series of surfaces) this is done from the surface thicken option (a option will appear - create solid from knitted surface)
