Suspended deck on Ammonia Storage Tank 2

Dear All,

I'm API 653 Inspector, which have next job to inspect ammonia storage tank. Can someone explain what is purposes of Suspended deck in ammonia tank, in term mechanical or process?

The suspended deck acts like a floating roof, minimizing the formation of ammonia vapours leading to a reduced vapour pressure inside the tank.

Hi,
Suspended deck was nothing but like cover plate for internal tank which is like open-cup. There are many pipe openings for inlet pipes, pump columns, vapour control line and so on. In addition, top of deck has layers of insulation to mitigate heat ingress.
