How many people have installed SW2004 SP 0.0? Are there any problems so far? Is it worth waiting for SP1?

I have a problem printing with 2004 0.0. It is slow between each sheet when printing to an hp laser. It spools up quickly, but is slow to print.

Also I found that the distance (and angle) mates can be set to a different value in different configurations. This is cool. The only problem is if you want to make a change in all configurations, there is no check box for "all configurations"

Other than that, I haven't seen any problems. The new BOM's are better than the old. There is a rev block and some new toolbar functionality.

The new BOM's are BETTER than the old? This would be not true to some folks.

There are a few "buggie" issues, but not as bad as 2003sp0, or as bad as the first Beta either.

Find the mate in the feature tree under the part it belongs to and then double click it. Then double click the dimension in the graphics area. You can set it to "This Config" "All" or "Specify". I agree it should be in the mate dialogue, but it's always been this way.

I attended one of the roll-out demos and decided to download & install SW2004. I like the improvements to the mates, BOM table (worked out an issue thru this forum) and the revision table.

I have some issues printing. Sometimes I get a good print, sometimes the objects are missing from the views but the annotations print, sometimes sectioned items print un-sectioned. I have also had issues with parts that contain design tables. Remove these from model files prior to upgrading. I have an O-Ring file with the standard configs defined by a design table and derived configs of the standards. SW2004 "simplified" things for me and made all configs use the same dimensions. A new file and lots of extra work got me back to were I was prior to SW2004.

I would still proceed with the upgrade, I just wish I knew about the design table issue earlier. I'm also looking forward to getting a new nVidia graphics card for some of the "enhanced" viewing features.

One additional note, a little more work could be done on the SW installer to remove the SW Temp folder that is generated during the installation. Delete this prior to re-starting.
I was cautious and did not want to delete until I re-started the computer and ran SW. Due to my workstation config my roaming profile became too large to load and I encountered other issues. Once I cleaned up my C drive everything worked as it should.

We NEVER load a new rev. of ANY major software in the production environment until:

1. Some decent amount of time has past for everyone who did to find the problems.

2. Maybe we will wait for SP1 (and still do 1.)!

3. SmartTeam finally gets their act together an catches up with SW. (Then of course we do 1. and maybe 2. on SmarTeam!!)

Yeah..... we have the old scars from lots of teeth marks on our rear ends.....

3/4 of all the Spam produced goes to Hawaii - shame that's not true of SPAM also.......
