I pulled my toolbars down to organize them better, and now I trying to put them back but they will not lock into place like they were before.
Could I have toggled something that is preventing me from mounting my toolbars?

Thanks in advance for your tips. I am new at SW and I need to learn the little nuances that are part of understanding every software package.

Do you mean your toolbars aren't keep their position with the new session of SolidWorks?

Did you say nuances or nuisances? The toolbars in SW have a way of wandering around. Remember that the toolbar set-up is specific to your file type. This means that they will be different in an assembly than they are in a part. Be sure to save them as you exit the doc. Having said that, I recommend ditching the toolbars wholesale and using the shortcut key (s key) and hotkeys to increase your speed. Plus it annoys other people when they try to use your machine.

What happened was I had the toolbars moved into the area to the SW screen where I do the CAD work, and I could not move them back to either the top, bottom, left, of right extremities of the window.
I did some moving around of the toolbars and finally got them to dock properly, but I don't know exactly what happened and what I was initially doing wrong.
How this whole situation started is I got a differnt computer and SW was loaded fresh onto it. I guess I should have saved my old toolbars so that they could have been loaded to the new computer.
I am old school and I am not very fond of tooldbars, so I may start using the shortcut keys.

If you ever need to reset SW back to the "factory" defaults check out faq559-507
