I could not justify the subscription service...so I let it expire. I was at SW 2011 SP1.0 when this happened. I currently have 2010 SP4 in use (64 bit on workstations, 32 bit on laptops).

I don't normally like to jump versions till at least SP2 or 3, to let the bugs get worked out....

What is the consensus? Is 2011 SP1 worth making the jump to?...or am I better off staying 2010 SP4 for a few years. There are a few features in 2011 I would like to have...like being able to better control hole wizard with configurations/design tables....

Thanks for your input....

2011 sp 2.0 is out (has been for some time) - we just installed today from 2010 sp 4.0. I'll let you know how it goes. BTW our VAR told me that they were endorsing 2011 sp 0.0, which is unusual for them - they usually advise us to hold off till sp. 2.0 at least.

gwubs,

Thanks for the input. I can not get SW 2011 SP2. I have the ISO image for SW 2011 SP1. Once your subscription expires, you can only install up to the SP that was in place at the time your subscription expired. So I am really looking for input on 2011 SP1.

It is good to hear that your VAR endorsed SP0, however.

We've had one issue with SW 2011. I'd stick with SW2010 for now.

Remember, first define the problem, then solve it.

Anyone else have any experience with SW2011 SP1.0....? Is it worth switching vs. SW2010 SP4.0...which has been really solid for me.?

Thanks.

What works for one person may not work for you and your products.

The best and safest way is to do a dual install and test for yourself. Make sure you back up all your files before using SW2011 ... just in case you want to go back to SW2010.

And make sure all the new install folders are suffixed with 2011
