SW doesn't open files directly from Windows Explorer

Hi Guys,

Since we installed the SW 2014 here, all the computers don't open files (parts, assemblies and drawings) directly from Windows Explorer by double click or right button and open.

Right click on the file in windows explorer. Click on "properties"
What does it say under "Opens with"
Maybe it's looking for an old version of Solidworks?

Since its a .dll file you might have to register that dll file.

if your not sure how to register a dll file this site should help... just find the dll path instead of the path per the website.

I try to open the followed model with solidworks 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014 but I get the same problem

knowing that I draw with sw 2014 ... and after formatting my PC all plans are introoumpu

I rarely use that open method anymore, simply because mine opens up a new SW window for every file. I just simply drag and drop the file in SW and it opens fine.

Have tried contacting your VAR, because obliviously we have not found an answer or we have not pursued this with our VAR. If your VAR does have a solution that works you should post it here.
