Has anyone know how to link cells in Excel to dimensions or numbers in SolidWorks
I created a calculation sheet in SW dwg.(req'dmt)and I have to do Cal. and fill in all results in to that sheet.
It's will be much faster if I can link from Excel

Thanks

Ben

If your talking about linking Dims in parts to DT then yes. Insert a DT into your model and double click the dimension that you want in your DT, etc... This works for Assemblies as well. But you can't insert a DT into a Drawing. You can insert an Object (Spread Sheet) into a drawing though.

Have not tried this, but logically it should work.
If you do need both a Design Table driving the part and the same spreadsheet inserted into your drawing you should be able to use an external Excel file for the DT. Then you can use it for both purposes.

Note also that since embedding or linking OLE objects in a drawing should follow standard OLE rules, you coulr have multiple sheets in the Execl spreadsheet. The FIRST sheet will always have to be the DT (currently with SW2003), but you should be able to link any subsequent sheet into your drawing. That would enable you to have different content or appearance to the two sheets and any cell calcs or links between the sheets.

Give it whirl and lets us know how it goes.
