Hi everybody!

I have a kind of problem here. I realize that when somebody print my drawings in other printer, with other settings, no matter if the page setup is set to print in landscape, SW2006 SP3.1 always print in portrait. I have to open every drawing, open the page setup, click in OK without changing anything, show print preview, and then, im able to print in landscape. But doing it with a hundred of drawings is just so to much work.

I use a macro to print all drawings in a folder, but it is useless if somebody print my drawings first, because no matter the orientation that was set, it just keep pronting in portrait, until I do all the steps i mentioned before.

I checked my printer settings and seems Ok, because only SW give me this problem....

Does anyboby have an idea how can I solve this "problem"? THanks a lot!!

Have you checked your printer settings?

Each computer can have its own Solidworks print settings, but these can be overridden by file specific settings. If there are no file specific settings, the local computer's settings will be used. Might want to check that. Look under File > Page Setup or File > Print > Page Setup.

I check the printer settings. I have not change it since I got this workstation (a couple of monts) And the problem is only show when somebody else print the drawings. If I put the orientation in the printer setup as landscape, the drawings print correct, but a lot of other things print wrong. Well, if I have to change the settings everytime, I will do. I just wabted to know if somebody have a similar problem and a solution.... Thanks any way

I would check the windows default printer settings on the other computers. Look under properties printing preferance. I think you will find that they are set to portrait.

We run into this problem and it´s usually solved by changing the printer defaults on the network (not on the user PC).

But it seems that some printers are more prone to this problem (default configs conflicting with local configs) than others.

If it is a network printer then that would be the ideal place to fix the problem, we use network printers here and that is how we control everything.
