Just downloaded and installed SP4 in under 25mins. Admitted it was only 198MB for Standard version (plus Feature Recognition and PhotoWorks/PV360), but still way better than the old updates.

Thanks!
I installed 2010 this week.
32 bit 1.5 hours (new install)
64 bit 5 hours! (update)

For me, SP4 trashed both installations of v2010 3.1 and v2009 5.1. Had to run a repair from the 2010 3.1 DVD, which magically cured the issues with v2009. (They really need to straighten out their registry confusion between versions!)

I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit. And yes, I understand others had no problems at all with the download and installation. For me, it was exactly the same as the problems I saw previously in attempting SP installations.

Wow ... frustrating.

Do you use the SWIM or a separate download?

I've tried using SWIM, downloading the updates and running as Administrator to install, and any other combination of things I could think of. I've had this problem only with this installation of Windows 7, so I think it's something between Windows 7 and SolidWorks that a wipe of the hard drive might cure.

My current version of v2010 3.1 seems to be fine, so as long as I find no reason to update, I'm good. Of course, this puts my VAR in a bad situation, since I now have absolutely no use for "support" or upgrades...
