I've just started using 2004 and creating a new drawing sheet format for our company. We currently just have SP 0.0. Is it possible to shorten the width of the columns in the BOM and Revision tables? For example, my REV. column is about 5 times longer than needed. I know how to adjust it, but it stops at this minimum width, which is not minimum enough.

Also, concerning the date that is auto-entered in teh Rev table when a revision is added, can the user change the format that is used. My default is 1/13/04, we use 13JAN04. Can that be changed?

Right click a cell in the BOM and select format; column width.

Toddlincoln, I've found that if you edit the text in the bom and hit enter after the text it will allow you to move the width narrower than SW's minimum.
Can't help with the date issue though.

To clarify, this is not an Excel based BOM, it is the SW BOM and Revision tables that's now included with the software.

Is this resolved in sp1?

You should be able to go to the end of the column (Your Mouse Icon will change Something like this - [<-|->] ) and drag the end of the cell in the direction you want. You can only get so close to the text and it stops. That is as far as it will go.

You can do the same by RMB the column and click on Formating. That gives you Column Width. You can change it there to but you will not be able to go below a certain size. Which is dependent on the text size.

The date format is set by Windows Short Format (in control panel).
