Is anyone having trouble with SW2004 crashing? Also I have noticed that a few things I could do in SW2003 I can't do in SW2004. Anyone else notice this?

Thanks,

Scott,

We are having some video card (I believe) problems. When you are in a drawing it will look like there are dimensions that are on top of each other, slightly offset. Rebuild doesn't always clear it up. Also using multi bodies and created a small sweep using a helix (about 7" long)with the profile being about a 1" square. In SW2003 I could create a plane using the end face and the top edge. SW2004 will not let me do that now. Also in our borders we use the link sheet format size in the corner to show what size paper. Sometimes that changes to the word Custom. If you change the template and then change it back it will read correctly. As far as the crashing, I clean out the temp, and SWbackup folders on a regular basis (have had a shortcut to both on the desktop since about the second day of having SW)

That's what it sounds like... Have you tried using the redraw icon? it's the one with the paint bucket spilling? A good way to test to see if it's a Graphics card issue is by restarting in VGA mode then running the same file and see if you get the same response.

Have you tried replacing the text?

or you could open up an old drawing into 04 and try saving that as a sheet format, then adding that format to a nre drawing and save it to a templates to

Have you tried my Alternative install FAQ? You might try that. Also did you do a New install or and upgrade?

SW recommends you do a New install and change the directory. (They should really remove the upgrade button from new versions)

Mates is most my problem on SW2004, anyone have this experiment??
I got all mates done in assy. I closed and open that file again, then I got a problem, 20-30% mates error. most of them are error on faces, it's look like you delete one part from assy. then mates couldn't find that part faces..

Try opening up 2 of the parts that are failing and changing the face colors of the 2 faces that are mated. Once the faces have been changed, then do a bunch of Ctrl-Q's and see if the color changes. If it does thats why your mates are failing. The Face ID's are being lost. If that's the case then you should contact your VAR ASAP.

I think you right, because I try to play with colors and texture, it's new feature in SW04,
but why I got this problem and other people don't
I never got this problem in SW03

This problem did happen in SW03 in the first couple of SP's, but only one out of alllll the customers I deal with seen it happen. You need to take this problem right up the ladder and get this repaired because if you don't your assemblies will not function correctly. One option I would try is to Re-install per my FAQ.

Good luck 2433,
