All,
We use toolbox and assign company part numbers and descriptions to the individual configurations of the toolbox part file. To get this information to show up in the drawing BOM correctly as seprate items, we check "Display as one item number" and "Display configurations of the same part as seperate items".

So now the problem is if we have another assy with multiple cinfigs, they all show up as seperate items also. We would like for them to show up as one item...

We have grouped the multiple instances of this item so the configs show up as one item. Then we manually edit the Qty of the one item.

My question is if there is a better way of doing this?? We would like the multi's of the hardware as seperate items, but the multi's of this one item to show as one line item with correct Qty.

Thank You.

It's either all or nothing. You can't have one item one way and another item another way in the same BOM. You are doing like you are suppose too.

The configurations you want to show up as one item: do they same the same partnumber? We use this and the last check box (Display configurations with the same name as one item). Same name means part number. Parts with with different part numbers show up as separate items. However, I am probably missing what you are trying to do otherwise this answer is too simple.

Where are the options "Display as one item number" and "Display configurations of the same part as seperate items" located?

My Solidworks is not set up this way, so when I insert a BOM, it groups all bolts together into one item.

They are in the SW BOM Manager ... not the Excel version.
